The Mission of Sovereign King Church

Sovereign King Church is united around the confession that Jesus Christ is King. We proclaim the gospel of the King while seeking to construct all of life under the commands of the King. Confess, Proclaim, Construct

Confess

Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

To be a Christian is to acknowledge that there is a new King to whom you pledge allegiance. In bible times, confessing Jesus as Lord was considered a treasonous act because it went against the claims of pagan rulers and their false gods. For us who dare to proclaim our faith in Christ, we may face persecution and opposition from a hostile world. Yet, we've got the hope of eternal life and the unshakeable knowledge that Jesus is building His church, and nothing can stop it. It is even more dangerous, however, for those who do not confess Christ because Jesus is the Sovereign King. Those who refuse to obey him and set themselves as rulers over their own lives will answer to Him. At Sovereign King Church, we stand together in our love for and faith in Jesus, confessing that He is the one true King.

Proclaim

Mark 16:15 - Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

The faith that we confess together, we proclaim together. We who have heard the good news and received it by faith have been commanded by our King to proclaim the good news of his kingdom. It's not just an obligation to spread the gospel, it's a joyful privilege. So, at Sovereign King Church, we take the proclamation of God's word seriously. We proclaim the good news in worship through song, prayer, Bible study, and preaching. But Sunday services are just the tip of the iceberg, we take the message of God's grace with us everywhere- sharing it with anyone and everyone we come across. Our mission is clear: to fulfill the command of our King to go forth and tell all of creation about His Kingdom.

Construct

Matthew 7:24 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be
compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

As a Christian in 21st century America, what does it mean to be a man or woman? What does it mean to be a father, mother, son, daughter, boss, employee, professor, or student? How and when do we confront the evils of our time? Although some Bible answers to these questions are more popular than others, all of God's commands are good. At Sovereign King Church, we believe that God's word should influence every aspect of life. Our world has been built on a foundation of sinful rebellion against God, resulting in negative impacts on our families, culture, and the nation. However, through the sacrifice of Christ, God not only forgives our sins but invites us to rebuild our lives on the solid foundation of His word. By faith, not only is our place in heaven secured, but we have the opportunity to live a life of new beginnings.

As followers of Christ, men are taught to embody responsibility, love, and leadership for those in their care, while women are encouraged to cultivate the gentle spirit that God prizes. Children are considered blessings from God, not obstacles to be avoided. They are taught to honor those who came before and follow the Lord. In the workplace, our focus is not just on pleasing an employer, but on serving Christ our King. As Christians, we aim to be model citizens, praying for our civil leaders while advocating for God-given liberty found in his law. With courage and determination, we oppose evil and vigilantly protect what is good. This work can only be done through humble dependence on Christ acknowledging our own shortcomings and transgressions. He is the master builder, and we are merely His workers. Christ is saving sinners, reclaiming the world, and summoning us to participate in this magnificent mission with Him.
